FWD Group announces appointment of Poramasiri Manolamai as Chief Executive Officer, FWD Thailand

FWD Group today announced the appointment of Poramasiri Manolamai as Chief Executive Officer designate for FWD Thailand, effective 1 January 2018 and subject to regulatory approval. Poramasiri will lead FWD’s growing business in Thailand to drive the delivery of its technology-driven customer-led strategy.
Poramasiri brings over 25 years’ experience in the Thai insurance industry to FWD. She will work closely with the incumbent CEO of FWD Thailand, Mike Plaxton through a leadership transition period until her appointment is effective on 1 January 2018. Mike will be retiring in 2018 after over 48 years in the industry, half of which have been in Asia.

Phong continued, “FWD would like to take this opportunity to thank Mike for his deep commitment to the company and we all wish him well in his retirement. He has been a pioneer for FWD and an excellent steward for our business which has under his leadership grown rapidly into a leading life insurer across Thailand, making Thailand one of FWD Group’s most important and successful markets.”
Poramasiri commented, “The opportunity to lead FWD in Thailand is very exciting, given FWD’s inspiring vision and commitment to change traditional perceptions of insurance. Poramasiri was previously Chief Distribution Officer for Krungthai-AXA Life Insurance, where she led key distribution channels including Agency, Bancassurance, Corporate Solutions, together with Academy, Distribution Transformation. She also held the positions of Chief Bancassurance Officer and Chief Marketing Officer during her 15-year career with the company, and had been on the Board of Directors for the last 13 years. Prior to her last role, Poramasiri worked with an international insurance company to co-ordinate the setup of their joint venture in Thailand, before leading the marketing team as General Manager of the local company.
